Activism and criticism go hand in hand. Without criticism, there is no activism—activists excel at voicing their concerns about injustice in the pursuit of a better and freer world for all.
However, there is also a toxic form of criticism that can lead to fatigue, burnout, negativity, and even destruction. The feeling of never doing enough or that things could always be better is common in activist circles. Self-reflection and self-criticism can certainly be powerful tools for making actions more purposeful and effective. But how can we practice them in a compassionate way? Often, intentions are good, but the impact doesn’t always turn out as expected.
This workshop explores how to approach criticism—both toward yourself and others—in a more compassionate way, creating more understanding, space, and freedom for growth and development.
The workshop is led by an activist who is also a trained mindfulness and compassion coach.
